Euphoria and/or Artworks visual design programs, Gerber Accumark or Lectra pattern design programs, and other programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, used by the industry to create, market and/or visualize products will be taught. Peripheral equipment essential to the design process will be included. Throughout the course of the semester students were tasked with creating a CAD portfolio for textile design.
Throughout the course of the semester students were tasked with a project that explored the entire design process from concept ideation to digital pattern making to 3D simulation. Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop were used to create a concept board and tech flats. Gerber pattern design software was used to create digital flat patterns that were imported to CLO 3D where fit adjustments were made and then simulated into a 3D garment.
