I designed this outfit for a specific event in which one of the sources of my inspiration would be headlining. The event was Greta Van Fleet’s “Dreams In Gold Tour” held at PNC Arena. The concert was my fourth GVF concert in the tour and it was significant because it was held on campus. The lead singer, Josh Kiszka, is known for his custom costumes and theatrical stage presence. The band is inspired by celestial and elemental symbols. I knew I wanted my outfit to feature aspects of those themes. I specifically took inspiration from Josh’s outfit in their “Heat Above” music video –he wears a white billowy outfit. I partnered the lead singer’s aesthetic with Hedy Lamarr’s costume in “Ziegfeld Girl”. I incorporated the stars and airy feel of her headpiece and outfit. The overall outcome was a one-of-a-kind ensemble I felt confident in which added to the memorable experience of watching the concert from the front row.
